Help me fix my zippo?

i recently stole a zippo lighter from the pound shop lol returning home i noticed it had no gas in it so i decided to spray deodrant all over the cotton wool inside of it. it ignighted and ruined the wick. i removed all the cotton woll from the bottom and pulled the wick up a little so it showed new wick, pushed the wick into the lighter base then pushed the rest of the cotton wool in. when sparking the lighter up it dosent ignite. i sprayed a little deodrant on the wick whick then made it ignite and will constantly burn after. does anyone know how i can fix this problem
