Keeping bread fresh?

We all know that this time of year as things get warmer, bread becomes harder to keep moist and fresh. I freeze mine from the supermarket and on defrosting it is fine but I wondered what people do to maximise the useful life of a loaf in warmer weather? Does keeping bread in the fridge help? I know some people do that. Or do traditional bread bins help? Also I find the more expensive the bread, the better it seems to keep! What tips can people offer here please? Thanks
