Will my burnt gr turn green again?

I know you are not supposed to cut your gr too low, but I had to mow my lawn every 3 - 4 days since the gr grew extremely fast. So just once I cut the gr low and now it is like we are in a drought with record temps, and most of the gr has turned yellow. I wanted to make sure that it doesn't just turn into dirt, will it turn green again after a big rainstorm? I tried watering it a bit but no effect.
