Are my sardines still OK to eat after being in a car for 6 weeks traveling across the US?

I have 4 cans of KO sardines dated Jun 2013. I took them on a 6 week road trip across the US in all kinds of weather-mostly in a hot car.Did anything bad happen to the sardines? will I get sick if I eat them? I took them to eat but had too much other food so never got to eat them.
