Why is the NCAA aganist expanding the BCS championship while they want to expand the bball tourney to 96 teams?

Having a BCS playoff means a reduced scope for bowl games, or incorporating bowl games into the playoff. The NCAA doesn't want to lose them. Having a longer March Madness means more games total, so they make more profit. Only the NIT and other tournaments are affected.
