Why has my cat starting acting up all of a sudden?

My 2 year old cat has all of a sudden been acting up. She's pooped in random places around the house 3 times and peed once. I have 4.5 month old twins so I'm sure that's what's stressing her out but why now? Why not when we first brought them home?
