Question About Twilight? What Does Imprinting Mean?

Outside of Twilight imprinting is when a baby animal takes a first glance at the first thing it sees and thinks it is its mother. In the Twilight world it means the first time one of the werewolves glance at a female, it means that they've kind of fallen in love and they're destined to be with that person. Lifemates if you will. Kind of sounds cheesy but at least the feelings are reciprocated.
