How to open corrupted media files?

i was working on file .wma and i changed it to .mp3 to be able to make the program mp3tag work on them to arrange their tags then they worked on media player with extension .mp3 and suddenly they stop working on media player so i was going to delete them but i found that they worked on the program VLC so i want to know how can i make them work again on media player
